90MINS HORSEBACK RIDING
APPIAN WAY AND SURROUNDING PARK
Around 8km round trip
The ride along the Appian Way is a thrilling way of getting away from the crowd, noise and pollution of the historical city center.
This ride is perfect for beginners and experts and is the best choice especially if you want to add then also a great lunch or dinner at the stable!
We suggest this ride also for beginners who wants to feel more the emotion to ride and to every rider that want to see more along the Appian Way.
In fact, a 90 minute relaxing horseback ride will take you to the ruins of the spectacular Villa of the Quintilii.
This huge ancient villa was famous for its thermal baths and aqueduct, as well as its hippodrome (race track).
Built in the 2nd Century by the Quintilii brothers, it was later taken over by Emperor Commodus and became an Imperial villa.
Riding horseback down the Appian Way on a quiet Roman spring morning with my daughter – what a memorable day!
This location is an easy 15 minute cab ride from the center of Rome but this experience is really a trip back in time. Don’t miss it!
The stables are a simple family run operation and when we’re on the trail everyone stops to say hello – this is a lovely neighborhood where everyone knows each other.
They could not have been more kind to my daughter. The horses were saddled and ready to go by the time we got there.
I would definitely recommend this to family and friends – especially if they want a unique Roman experience without lines and hordes of tourists!
